2026 KGWG Summer Meeting
The 2026 Korean Gravitational Wave Group (KGWG) Summer Meeting will be held from July 15 (Wed) to 16 (Thu), 2026 at POSTECH, Pohang.
With more than three hundred observations of gravitational wave (GW) events made thus far, the GW astronomy era has emerged, and GW science has become one of the most active research fields in both the astronomical and astrophysical communities. Consequently, the international GW science community is growing rapidly. Moreover, next-generation GW detectors will go online in the near future along with the initiation of the International Gravitational-Wave Observatory Network beyond the current LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA network. Therefore, it is timely to exchange our knowledge about what we have done and what we can do in the era of GW astronomy and multi-messenger astronomy.
During this Summer Meeting, we will discuss various topics in all disciplines of the GW science, such as
- GW astrophysics (theoretical/observational)
- GW cosmology (theoretical/observational)
- GW data analysis
- GW experiment
We also feature the following special sessions;
- Special lecture by Prof. Takaaki Kajita, followed by a discussion on GW science in East Asian countries
- Luncheon and networking session for junior researchers and students (July 16)
We encourage you to submit an abstract of your original work corresponding to any discipline of GW science. Please note that there is no restriction on the stage of research; abstracts of either previously published articles or ongoing projects are welcome.
Please save the dates for this meeting and the upcoming deadlines:
- Registration Deadline: June 30 (Tue), 2026 23:59 KST
- Abstract Submission Deadline: June 30 (Tue), 2026 23:59 KST
- Abstract submission requires a KGWG Indico account.
- If you don't have an account yet, you can create it via the 'Login' button on the top-right corner.
We look forward to seeing many of you at POSTECH this summer!
